Bangabandhu’s contribution will always be remembered: Speaker

Recalling the contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to establishment of the rights of the Bangalees, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Thursday said Bangabandhu’s contribution to the nation will be remembered forever with love and affection.
“Bangabandhu had motivated people to independence and gifted people an independent country…so, people are now remembering him on his birth centenary, she said while attending a prize and certificate distribution ceremony on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Quiz competition in Dhaka.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was also attended the function as the chief guest.
“The one of the most significant parts of the Bangabandhu’s birth centenary was selecting Bangabandhu scholar and awarding scholarship,” said the Speaker, adding “If the programme continues , the people those own the Bangabandhu scholarship would come forward for forging the ‘Sonar Bangla’ in the coming days, reports BSS.”
Chief Coordinator of Bangabandhu Birth Centenary Celebration National Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury gave the welcome address at the function while Professor Dr Fakhrul Alam, former finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith and Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni also spoke on the occasion.
