Bangabandhu’s birthday celebrated

A two day -long programme to observe birth anniversary of Bangabondhu and National Children’s Day ended in Barishal on Monday.
The programme organised by government approved only English medium educational institution Jahanara-Israil School and College of the city at its Auditorium.
The programme was started by cutting cake to observe the birth anniversary of Bangabondhu participated by the students of the institution on Sunday morning.
Competitions of painting, poetry recitation, speech, discussion on life and achievement of Bangabondhu, history of liberation war were also held on this occasion.
An exhibition titled as ‘from language movement to liberation movement of Bangladesh’ was arranged at the auditorium of the institution about the history of Bangla language, nationalism and liberation war with rare documents, photographs, charts, copy of hand-written constitution, training dummy rifles, propagation cyclostyle machine, blank shell of canon etc.
Dupchanchia (Bogura) Correspondent says : The birthday anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day was celebrated in Dupchanchia upazila of Bogura district on Sunday in a befitting manner.
The people of the upazila have celebrated the day through extensive programmes with fanfare and gaiety. The theme of this year’s birthday of Bangabandhu and National Children’s Day is “Bangabandhu’s birthday, rinse life of the children with colour”. On this day in 1920, Bangabandhu, the vivacious leader of the Bangalee nation, the architect of independent Bangladesh and the greatest Bangalee of all times, was born in a respected Muslim family at Tungipara village of Gopalganj district.
Khulna Correspondent adds: To mark the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day, JJS arranged a children’s gathering on Sunday at CSS Ava Center, Khulna.
The Mayor of Khulna City Corporation, Talukder Abdul Khaleque was Chief Guest . The programme was chaired by ATM Zakir Hossen, Executive Director, JJS.Md. Kafil Uddin, Chief of Field Office, UNICEF, Khulna, and DirubakabirLipi, member of child protection committee, ward No. 15 of KCC were present at the program as a special guests. In the program representative of children living in the street and member of adolescent club and children and youth of different wards of KCC delivered their group wise presentation on the problems they face and recommendations for solutions.
