The 94th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in different districts through various programmes. Our Correspondents and asgencies report:
Chapainawabganj Correspondent reports: The 94th birth anniversary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day was observed through different programmes in Chapainawabganj on Monday.
Chapainawabganj district administration arranged a rally. It was taken out from the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises in the morning. After parading the main roads of the town, it ended at Abdul Mannan Sentu Market square. Wreaths of flowers were offered at the portrait of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman there. A short discussion meeting was also held there. Among others, deputy commissioner Sardar Sarafat Ali, police super Bashir Ahmed, additional district magistrate Ashraful Islam, additional deputy commissioner (General) Dr. KM Quamruzzaman Selim, additional deputy commissioner (Revenue) Nazrul Islam, executive engineer of Bangladesh Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) Akbar Ali, district children affairs officer Shafiqul Alam and district women affairs officer Momtaj Mohol were present on the occasion.
Gazipur Correspondent says: Iqbal Siddiquee Education Society organised a painting competition for the children and a discussion meeting on the 94th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Monday.
At least 155 students of Kachi-Kancha Academy, Nayanpur N S Ideal School and Iqbal Siddiquee School took part in the competition. After the competition a discussion meeting was held at the society hall room, which was presided over by Iqbal Siddiquee, Chairperson of the society and addressed among others by Rowshan Ara, Abul Mansur, Rabeya Akter, Urbee Chakma, Kamrul Islam Niloy and Kayes Ahmed Hridoy. Many children, parents and teachers attended the programme.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: The 94th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day- 2014 was observed in the city and its adjacent areas here yesterday amid much festivity.
Marking the day, the district administration organised a huge colourful rally from the Laboratory School premises that ended at Shishu Academy ground after parading some of the main thoroughfares. Large number of schoolboys and girls in colourful dresses joined the rally.
Following the rally, a discussion and prize-giving ceremony was held at the Shishu Academy hall room. Commissioner of Rajshahi division Helaluddin Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury addressed the discussion, among others.
The district administration and Bangladesh Shishu Academy also arranged a daylong programme including painting, handwriting, essay competitions and extempore speech for children.
The competitions were held at different educational institutions in the metropolis and the district.
Marking the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, local socio-cultural and political organisations arranged separate programmes in the city and upazila headquarters.
BSS from Gaibandha adds: The 94th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman andNational Children’s Day-2014 was celebrated in the district with due respect and festivity.
To mark the anniversary, district administrations, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Islamic Foundation, Social Services Department, Jatiya Mohila Sangstha, Bangladesh Awami League, educational institutions and socio- cultural organisations chalked out elaborate programmes.
The programmes included hoisting of national and party flags, placing wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu at Poura Park, bringing out colorful procession, arrangement of art and good hand writing competition and prize distribution, holding of milad and doa mahfil, offering special prayers at mosques, temples and churches for the salvation of the departed soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and cultural function.
