BSS, Jahangirnagar University :The 95th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day was celebrated at Jahangirnagar University (JU) here yesterday in a befitting manner.To mark the day, JU authorities organized different programmes including children’s art competition, placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, discussion and Milad Mahfil.Children’s art competition was held at JU School and College while JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam inaugurated the competition as the chief guest at 9.30 am.Besides, a colorful rally, led by JU VC, was brought out from central Shaheed Minar at 10 am which was ended in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall premises.Later, a discussion entitled “Bangladesh, Bangla Bhasha and Bangabandhu” was held at seminar room of Jahir Raihan auditorium on the campus at 11 am.Professor Dr. Shariff Enamul Kabir, a Member of Public Service Commission, addressed the discussion as the chief guest while JU VC Professor Farzana Islam and Pro-VC Professor Dr. Abul Hossain addressed the function as special guests.Dean of JU Law and Justice Faculty Professor Dr. Sheikh Manzurul Haque, Proctor Professor Dr. Tapan Kumar Shaha, Professor of Geography and Environment department Dr. Shahedur Rashid and Registrar Abu Bakr Siddique were present at the function.
