Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Thursday said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman set an example in political leadership.
“Bangabandhu was a man who spent important moments of his life in the interest of the state and the people. He ran from one end of the country to the other for political purposes. He worked with grassroots leaders to create public opinion in favor of democracy,” he said.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion, sports competition and cultural function at the Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Center (BITAC) in the city, said a press release.
BITAC organised the programme marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
In his speech, Humayun said Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was dedicated to establishing good relations among the leaders and workers and intensive dissemination of information.
Spreading the light of youth, he set an example in political leadership, he added.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was present as the special guest while Director General of BITAC Anwar Hossain Chowdhury was in the chair.
