Bangabandhu railway bridge engineer killed in road mishap

An engineer working at Bangabandhu Railway Bridge project was killed in an accident in Tangail on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Shah Abdul Moyeen (35), hailing from Palash upazila in Narsingdi. He was working as the site civil engineer at the under-construction Bangabandhu Railway Bridge, reports our Tangail correspondent.
Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station, said that the accident occurred in Golchokkor area on the east side of the bridge around 8am when Moyeen’s motorcycle collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction while overtaking.
Critically injured Moyeen was taken to Tangail General Hospital where the doctors declared him dead, he said.
The body was handed over to his family after legal procedures, the OC added.
