Bangladesh Police became champions in the Bangabandhu Federation Cup Handball (Men’s) Competition after defeating Bangladesh Ansar & VDP by 31-26 goals in the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday.
The first half was locked 14-14 goals.
Shohag Hossain of Bangladesh Police top-scored with 14 goals.
The prize-giving ceremony will be held today. State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Managing Director and Chairman of Orient Food Company Mahbubuzzaman will be present with him as the special guest.
A total of four teams took part in the handball competition. They were: Bangladesh Ansar & VDP, Bangladesh Police, Bandarban District Sports Association and Team Handball, Dhaka. Bangladesh Handball Federation arranged the handball meet with the financial assistance of Orient Food Company.
