Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited lost to Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club by 22 runs, according to Duckworth/Lewis Method in their rain interrupted match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket at the BKSP Ground-4 in Savar on Tuesday.
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club led the points table securing nine points from five matches, while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited earned six points from five matches.
Put into bat first, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club piled up a fighting total of 78 runs for the loss of four wickets in six overs and then restricted Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited to 56 runs for the loss of four wickets in six overs.
Imranuzzaman of Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club hammered a hurricane 41. His 14-ball innings saw five sixes and two fours.
Shamim Hossain remained unbeaten with 29. He struck two sixes and one four in his 16-ball innings.
Pacer Abu Jayed of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club bagged two wickets in the space of four runs, while Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket for 27 runs.
Shakib Al Hasan of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited made 22 from 14 balls featuring two fours and a sixer, while Nadif Chowdhury scored 16 from 11 balls.
Pacer Shafiul Islam of Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club captured two wickets.
Meanwhile, Shinepukur Cricket Club lost to Legend of Rupganj by 14 runs, according to Duckworth/ Lewis Method in their rain-interrupted match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
Batting first Legends of Rupganj piled up a satisfactory 81 runs for the loss of six wickets in 12 overs (eight overs were curtailed due to rain) and then restricted Shinepukur Cricket Club to 67 runs for the loss of six wickets in 12 overs.
Sunzamul Islam of Legends of Rupganj notched up 24 from 17 balls, while Sohag Gazi scored 13 runs off seven balls.
Naeem Islam remained unbeaten with 18 runs. Sabbir scored 16 runs playing 20 deliveries.
Right-arm pacer Sumon Khan of Shinepukur Cricket Club grabbed three wickets at the cost of 20 runs, while Robiul Haque bagged two wickets in the space of nine runs. Later, Mahidul Islam of Shinepukur Cricket Club hit a fine 30. His 23-ball innings was studded with one four and two sixes.
Left-arm spinner Nabil Samad of Legends of Rupganj was the day’s most successful bowler. He captured three wickets for just one run.
