Bangabandhu, Bangamata Gold Cup finals on March 2

Both the finals of Bangabandhu Gold Cup and Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Gold Cup Primary School Football tournaments will be held on March 2 at the country’s premier venue Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to present both the finals as the chief guest.
Ahead of the finals, the final round of the tournament will begin on Sunday (Feb 23) at the Dhaka University play ground.
Primary and Mass Education Minister M Mustafizur Rahman will open the five-day final round as the chief guest.
This year a total of 14 champion teams from seven division of both the tournament will participate in the final round.
The champion teams will receive cash prize of Taka 1,00.000.00 in addition gold coin while the runners up team get Taka 75,000.00.
The third place finishers will have Taka 50,000.00 as prize money.
Besides, the best player and highest scorer of the tournament will have gold-coated crest and boot.
In this regards, a press conference was held on Thursday at the National Sports Council conference room to give all the details of the meet.
Primary and Mass Education Minister M Mustafizur Rahman and Primary and Mass Education secretary Kazi Akhter Hossain and Director General (DG) of Directorate of Primary Education Shyamal Kanti Ghosh were present at the press conference.
It can be mention that 62,207 primary schools in Bangabandhu Gold Cup and 62,261 primary schools in Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Gold Cup took part in the tournament last year.
