The government imposed a ban on fishing at sea from 12 midnight on Wednesday.
The order will be remain effective till July 23.
During this period, netting using any fishing boat, mechanical or other vessel will be completely banned, said public relation official of Department of Fisheries.
The ban is being enforced in 14 coastal districts, 65 upazilas and Chattogram city.
A notice from the Ministry informed that 16 thousand 712 metric tons VGF have been allocated for the fishermen.
