Cylinder blast: Balloon trader not produced in court

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday fixed December 1 for submission of the investigation report in the case filed in connection with the gas cylinder blast at Rupnagar of Mirpur in the capital.
Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain of the CMM Court also directed the prosecution on Thursday to produce balloon trader Abu Sayed in the court after his recovery from the illness.
On Wednesday night, police filed the case with
Rupnagar Police Station against Abu Sayed on the charge of homicide.
Meanwhile, the Investigation Officer of the case, Rupnagaar Thana Inspector Dipak Kumar Das yesterday informed the court that the accused could not be produced in the court as injured Abu Sayed is under treatment in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, an eight-year-old boy, who was injured in the gas cylinder blast in Rupnagar area of the capital, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), raising the death toll to six.
Victim Nihad breathed his last at 3.00 am on Thursday in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Inspector Bachchu Mia of DMCH police outpost confirmed the death. Another child Ria died at NITOR hospital. Five children were killed on the spot as a gas cylinder used to inflate balloons blasted on Road No. 11 of Rupnagar in Mirpur area on Thursday afternoon.
