BAF annual winter exercise ‘Wintex’ begins

A six-day Annual Winter Exercise “WINTEX-2015” of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) began at all bases on Wednesday.
The main objective of the exercise is to assess and evaluate the operational capability of BAF to safeguard her own air space, force sustenance and provide support to land and military forces in wartime scenario, an ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations).
The exercise will also try to identify the weakness and draw appropriate lessons for improvement.
All types of BAF fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopters, radar squadrons, Surface to Air Missile (SAM) unit including all BAF personnel are taking part in the exercise.
As a part of the exercise, the pilots of BAF fighter aircraft, transport aircraft and helicopters will practice different air combat maneuvers and tactics including interception by the fighter aircraft.
Participation of all manpower and material of BAF in the exercise will be more effective in strengthening air defense capability of Bangladesh.
To make the exercise comprehensive, components of Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Civil Defence and BNCC (Air Wing) are participating in the exercise in limited scale.
