Pakistan captain Babar Azam has become the fastest Asian batter to score 4000 ODI runs. He romped past India’s Virat Kohli to reach the milestone.
Babar smashed 57 runs to achieve the feat during the first ODI against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Though, the men in green were defeated by 88 runs.
The 27-year-old took 82 innings to achieve the feat, while Kohli needed 93 innings. South Africa’s Hashim Amla reached the landmark in 81 innings.
The right-handed batter is also the first Pakistani to complete 4,000 ODI runs in less than 100 innings. Previously, Mohammad Yousuf took 110 innings to achieve the feat.
