UNB, Dhaka :President of Bikolpo Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Saturday urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to quit for the sake of peace in the country.”The country is on the brink of a civil war… Where will we go if a civil war breaks out? You (Hasina) will have to remove disorder as you’re holding the chair of the Prime Minister. We want peace in the country. You please quit for ensuring peace for people,” he said. The BDB chief made the call while addressing a rally in front of Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Janata League’s central office at Motijheel, marking the party’s 16th founding anniversary.Mentioning that dialogue is the only way to overcome the current political crisis in the country, he said, “You must sit in talks to restore peace. No problem was solved in the past without dialogue and it won’t be possible to overcome the current crisis without discussion this time as well.”B Chowdhury, a former President, termed a blunder BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s refusal to the dialogue offer of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina before the January-5 election. He questioned if the Prime Minister could have given a dialogue proposal before January-5 election why she is unwilling to do the same now when people are burned alive every day.He warned the government that it will be held responsible if any undemocratic force grabs power taking the opportunity of the country’ s conflicting situation. The BDB chief urged the government to form a probe body headed by the Chief Justice to look into the petrol bomb attack incidents as people are confused about the perpetrates of the atrocious incidents.
