Awareness seminar on childhood cancer held

ASHIC, Foundation for Childhood Cancer, organized an awareness seminar on Childhood Cancer at Cumilla Medical College Hospital (CuMCH) on Saturday to celebrate of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in cooperation with World Child Cancer (WCC), UK, said a press release.
Md. Nurul Absar, Treasurer of ASHIC, Foundation for Childhood Cancer who presided over the Seminar welcome the guests, highlighting the significance of the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin, Director of CuMCH was the chief guest of this awareness programme. On his speech, he assured to support to ASHIC always.
Special guest Asst. Prof. Dr. Md. Kawsar Hossain, Head of Pediatric Dept (Incharge), CuMCH, has requested all present doctors and nurses to show humanity to children living with cancer. He also request to circulate programme of ASHIC in mass media.
Associate Prof. Dr. Sajedul Haque, Head of Neonatal- Pediatric and Child Surgery Dept. was also present in the seminar. He told he will always support ASHIC and will sent Childhood Cancer affected patients those hospitals where they will get proper treatment.
Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mahabubul Alam, Neonatal- Pediatric and Child Surgery Dept. of CuMCH was also present in the seminar and spoke about the subject. He also added that as a Voluntary Project Director he will try his level best to support ASHIC.
Mst. Kamrunnaher Lovely, Manager, ASHIC, Foundation for Childhood Cancer, displayed a documentary video on the role ASHIC has played in improving the status of childhood cancer in Bangladesh over the last 28 years.
Awareness Session on Childhood Cancer was conducted by Dr. Sayeda Sharmin Quadir, Medical Officer, Palliative Medicine Dept, BSMMU.
At the end of the seminar, Lunch Packets were provided by ASHIC. Also gifted toys to enlisted patients of ASHIC Play Center, CuMCH.
