The problems of the insurance sector can be identified and solved by increasing the awareness among the people about it. The media can assist to it.
BM Yousuf Ali, President of Bangladesh Insurance Forum (BIF), an organization of insurance companies’ chief executive officers (CEOs), said it at the view exchange meeting with Insurance Reporters Forum (IRF) in the Popular Insurance Company’s head office in the city on Sunday.
IRF president Golam Samdany presided over the function while CEOs Md Fazlul Hoque Khan (Janata ins), AKM Shariful Islam (Diamond ins), Zahid Anowar (Central ins), Major (Rtd) Muhammad Mosaddiqul Hoque (Sena Kallayan ins) and BK Mondol (Jamuna ins) were present.
IRF Secretary General Gazi Anowarul Hoque (New Nation), Vice-President Golam Mowla (Banglatribune.com) Joint Secretary MM Masud (Manab Zamin), Finance Secretary Rahim Sheikh (Jana Kantha), Organizing Secretary Shakawat Hossain Sumon (Alokito Bangladesh), Publication Secretary Mahfuzul Islam (Banglanews), members Monir Hossain (Jugantor), Abu Ali (Amader Shomoy), Ali Riaz (Bangladesh Pratidin) and Rasedul Islam (BSS), among others, were present.
BM Yousuf Ali, CEO of Popular Life Insurance said, “Many negative news, which are published in the news papers hampers the sectors development. We need constructive news for it.”
“Constructive criticism helps develop the sector. We want help form media about it. We want to work together for the nation,” he said.
Golam Samdani said that insurance sector is an important part of national economy. It is the second largest employment sector. The sector may contribute to develop Bangldesh economy.
