Avik Anwar : First Bangladeshi who wins a motor sport event on foreign soil

Avik Anwar became the first Bangladeshi who won a motor sport event on foreign soil and brought glory for Bangladesh. He is son of Anowar Hossain, who is the owner of Car House Ltd. Avik completed his honors (Economics) and Masters degree from Canada Toronto University. From early on 2009 he took the motor sports as his hobby then its gave him a great honor for him.
Kari Motor Speedway is a purpose built Formula 3 auto racing circuit or race track, located in Chettipalayam, Coimbatore, India. The circuit is named after S. Karivardhan, who is one of the pioneer of motor sports in India. The track is located at the southern most point of India where events like JK Tyre National Racing Championship, Indian Touring Car National Championship, MRF Formula 1600 Series, Formula LGB Series have taken place. This year the Indian Touring Car National Championship held under the Madras Motor Sports Club in the Volkswagen Ameo Series. This Series consists of identical cars with the only difference being the driver, this is where Avik Anwar excelled and beat all the other competitors and gained his first international win.
This particular driver has won the only motor sport event ‘Rally cross’ held in Bangladesh for consecutive 3 years, 2014, 2015 and in 2016 in multiple classes. In 2017 he decided to go to India to compete in a real racing track governed by the FIA (Federation International de l’Automobile) with his racing license issued in Canada. For consecutive 2 years he pursued his goal of winning as a Bangladeshi and on the 23rd of June 2019 his dream came true at Kari Motor Speedway making him the first Bangladeshi who won a motor sport event on foreign soil.
