An auto- rickshaw puller was hacked death at Ugragar area in Pabna Sadar upazila early Saturday.
Police recovered the body of the victim from a field of the village on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam Batul, 25, son of Mohir Uddin of village Rahimpur in Pabna Sadar upazila was missing from Friday night.
Officer-in-charge of Ataikula police station Abdur Razzak quoting his family members said Batul left from his house on Friday afternoon for driving auto rickshaw. As he did not return home family members could not contact with him.
Later the locals found the body at Ugragar area on Saturday morning then informed police. Police rushed the spot and recovered the body from the spot on Saturday morning. Family members of Batul later identified the body the OC said.
Criminals snatched his auto rickshaw and slain him to death in the spot the OC said adding that the criminals could not be identified on filing this report.
The body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“In primary investigation we come to know that the criminals killed him to snatch the rickshaw. Police is investigating the incident to find out the real culprits.” Ataikula OC said.
Victim’s uncle Zia Hossain filed a case against the anonymous criminals he added.
