Australia Under-19 Cricket team will not come in Bangladesh due to security concern. Australia Under-19 Cricket team was scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh in January to take part in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Cricket Tournament.
CEO of Cricket Australia James Sutherland confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
Earlier, in October, 2015 Australia National Cricket team postponed their Bangladesh tour showing security concern. Though Bangladesh Government assured them to give high profile security during their Bangladesh tour.
Later, in December, 2015 an Australian delegation visited Bangladesh to observe the security measurement of Bangladesh.
Later, the delegation submitted a report to the Australia Government. After discussion about the report Cricket Australia decided to cancel the tour of Australia Under-19 Cricket team.
James Southerland expressed in a statement that they give highest priority of security to the officials and the cricketers during any tour.
Southerland said, ” We have known that there is a security threat for Australia Under-19 Cricket team during the upcoming tour in Bangladesh. So, we have no alternative but to cancel the tour.”
