Australia piled up a massive total of 307 off 49 overs against Pakistan in their match of the ICC World Cup Cricket at Taunton in England on Wednesday. In reply, Pakistan scored 147 for the loss of five wickets in 27.3 overs till filing this report.
Australia made a formidable start as openers Aaron Finch and David Warner put on together 146 runs before Finch was caught at the cover by Mohammad Hafeez off Mohammad Amir.
David Warner hit a marvelous 107. His 111-ball innings was studded with 11 fours and a sixer. He was caught at the mid-off by Imam-ul-Huq off Shaheen Shah Afridi when Australia’s total was 242 for the loss of four wickets.
Aaron Finch hit a captain’s knock of 82. His 84-ball knock was belted with four sixes and six fours.
Apart from Warner and Finch, no Australian batsman could make a notable score.
Mohammad Amir bowled extremely well and finished his superb spell as 10-2-30-5.
Shaheen Shah Afridi was the other successful bowler of Pakistan who took two wickets conceding 70 runs.
