Australia were bowled out for 308 in reply to England’s first innings 430, a deficit of 122 runs, on the third day of the first Ashes Test at Sophia Gardens on Friday.
Ashes-holders Australia lost their last five wickets for 44 runs after resuming Friday on 264 for five.
James Anderson led England’s attack with three for 43 in 18.5 overs, with opener Chris Rogers top-scoring for Australia with 95 on Thursday.
This is the first of a five-match series.
