Australia were 258 for two at the close on the fourth day of the second Test against New Zealand at the WACA Ground in Perth on Monday.
Steve Smith was on 131 and Adam Voges 101 with the home side holding an overall lead of 193 runs heading into Tuesday’s final day.
New Zealand led by 65 runs after their first innings of 624 with Ross Taylor top-scoring with a record-breaking 290.
