Court Correspondent :A witness of August 21 grenade attack case on Tuesday told the court that accused Moulana Tajuddin fled the country with a fake passport.Judge Shahed Nuruddin of Dhaka’s Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 on Tuesday recorded the depositions of 86th Prosecution Witness (PW) Abdul Khaleque at makeshift court set up at Nazimuddin Road of old Dhaka and fixed tomorrow to record the depositions of more witnesses.Khaleque is an employee of Rajshahi passport office. He told the court that the Investigation Officer of the case seized the relevant papers in connection with the fake passport.Of the 582 witnesses of the case, Khaleque testified on Tuesday as the 86th witness and the number of accused in the case is 52.Of them 25 accused including Mufti Hannan were produced to the court while nineteen are on the run. The remaining eight accused who are on bail were present in the courtroom. The grenade attack of August 21, 2004 at a rally in front of Bangladesh Awami League central office at the City’s Bangabandhu Avenue caused the death of 24 people includingwomen Awami League leader Ivy Rahman and more than one hundred people including the incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were injured in the mayhem.
