A newly married housewife tried to commit suicide by jumping in the Karnaphuli river from top of the Kalurghat bridge in city on Saturday afternoon. Local people picked up her from river quickly and sent to chittagong medical hospital immediately. Sumi Akhter was married with a truck driver Md. Saddam Hossain two months ago. Sumi hails f rom Kadurkhil of Boalkhali upazila and a worker of Regent textiles of chittagong.
