They were sent to Dinajpur jail by a court as the investigation officer (IO) didn’t plead to place them on fresh remand.
Accused Nabirul Islam and Santu Kumar were sent to the district jail after they were produced before the court of senior judicial magistrate Ismail Hossain at about 3:30pm on Friday after their seven-day remand was over. They were later taken to the jail as the IO didn’t plead for fresh remand.
Confirming the matter, court inspector Israil Hossain said the detective branch (DB) didn’t plead for placing the accused on a fresh remand.
It may be mentioned that after the arrest of Nabirul and Santu on September 5 last for their alleged attempt on the lives of UNO Waheeda Khanam and her father, they were produced before a local court.
