Journalists community on Saturday noon formed a human chain and rally in front of the Press Club of the city protesting the attack on journalists across the country. Speakers termed the attack on Journalists attack on democracy. Journalists were being attacked and physically hurt frequently while discharging their duties in different places of the country. They came under attack by some masked assailants recently while covering the news of the Safe Roads movement of the student.
They threatened to launch tougher movement if any further attack. They demanded immediate and exemplary punishment of the culprits including the Sagor -Runi killing . Rangpur Press Club treasurer , Sushanto Vhowmic, Daily Karotoa Correspondent, Sazzad Hossain Bappy, Masranaga Tv , Senior Correspondent, Rafq Sarker, DBC Channel Staff Reporter, Nazmul Islam Nishat, SA Tv Rangpur correspondent, Rezaul Islam Babu , General Secretary, Bangladesh Photo Journalists Rangpur unit, Mominul Islam Ripon spoke in the rally with General Secretary Rangpur Press Club , Rashid Babu chaired the programme.
