A social development orgaisation of the port city – Fight for Women Rights demanded exemplary punishment with attachment of properties those are destroying the natural beauties through cutting trees, filling ponds and damaging the natural beauties like hill cutting etc.
The organization formed human chain yesterday morning in front of Chittagong Press Club with its Chief Advocate Rehana Begum Ranu in the chair.
The speakers in the human chair demanded enactment of tougher laws against the violators of govt rules of hill cutting, tree felling etc. The human chain also told that recently century old trees belong to Bangladesh Railway have been felling by the miscreant group very recently .
On the other hand unabated hill cutting is continuing in the city . Among others, Shaheed Jaya Begum Mustari Shafi , Prof. of CU Dr. Gazi Salehuddin also spoke on the occasion.
