Police arrested Niaz Morshed, director of Mind Aid Hospital, on Tuesday night in connection with the murder of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim.
Niaz was arrested from the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital, where he was taking treatment, said Kazi Shahiduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Adabor Police Station on Wednesday.
Now, his treatment is being continued at the hospital under police custody, the OC added.
With his arrest, so far 11 staff of the hospital has been arrested over the incident. Police also shut down the hospital.
According to the case statement, Anisul was suffering from mental illness. He was brought to Mind Aid Hospital around noon on Monday. Shortly after being admitted to the hospital, he was beaten to death by staff.
Later, the father of the deceased Faizuddin Ahmed, a freedom fighter, filed a murder case with Adabar police station.
Besides, a Dhaka court on Tuesday remanded the 10 employees for seven days in the case.
