The 9th Asian Under-14 Tennis Series inaugurated at the BKSP on Monday.
Director General of BKSP Brigadier General Md Emadul Haque inaugurated the five-day long tournament as the chief guest while Director (Administration & Finance) of BKSP Md Obaidul Haque, Principal of BKSP Lieutenant Colonel Md Fazlul Haque were with him as special guests.
Hosts Bangladesh, India, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Japan and United States of America are taking part in the meet.
A total of 31 participants including eight girls are competing in the tennis meet.
Ranjit Sarker of Bangladesh beat Daniel Johnson of United States of America by 6-0, 6-1 sets in the day’s first match.
Besides, Hidoki of Japan, Abir of Bangladesh, Riyad Hasan of Bangladesh, Saikat Shahriar of Bangladesh, Farid Reza of Bangladesh won their respective matches on the opening day.
