The first-ever Asian Foreign Service Conference would be held in Dhaka early next year.
The decision was taken on Thursday at the first meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee of BCS Foreign Affairs Association (BFAA) here with BFAA President and Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque in the chair.
The Foreign Service conference would be organised aimed at promoting deeper understanding among the Asian diplomats through exchange of best practices, information and ideas, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
The meeting also discussed the draft work plan for 2017, including engagements with other civil service and professional associations.
