The 17th biennial Asia Fine Arts Exhibition-2016 is set to begin at Chitrashala of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on December 1 this year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the month-long exhibition. The exhibition is held by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy after every two years.
A total of 153 countries including Bangladesh will participate in the exhibition, where 365 art works of 280 artists will be displayed.
Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liakat Ali Lucky made a presentation on progress of the exhibition at a meeting of the national committee on the occasion of holding the 17th biennial Asia Fine Arts Exhibition-2016.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor presided over the meeting. Cultural Affairs Secretary Begum Aktari Momotaj, Prof Nazrul Islam and artists Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Rafiqun Nabi and Kalidas Karmakara, among others, were present.
