Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday rejected Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s claim about the existence of the activists of Islamic States in Bangladesh.
“There is no existence of IS or any other international terrorist organisation in Bangladesh. If India has obtained information, the country should provide it to us,” he told journalists in his office at secretariat
in the city. On Saturday, Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, ISIS has been trying to enhance its foothold in India’s neighbourhood – Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, as per the directive of a vested quarter, target killings are taking places in the country in the name of IS in a bid to create anarchy.
“The government is showing zero tolerance to counter militancy. Cashing the so-called IS issue, if anybody tries to instigate, he will be dealt with severely. The government is determined against terrorism and militancy,” Home Minister said.
He said, all militant groups, including the JMB, are under the control of the government.
“But, local and international many vested quarters are helping them. We’ve also established our control over them,” Kamal said.
