A Dhaka court yesterday sent Selim Sattar, Director of Samah Razor Blades Industrial Company Limited, to the jail in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir of Dhaka CMM Court passed the order after the police produced Selim in the court and the Investigation Officer and Inspector of the Directorate of Narcotics Control (DNC) Nazmul Hossain Khan pleaded to keep Selim behind the bar till the completion of the probe in the case.
Defense Counsel Advocate Saleh Uddin pleaded for Selim’s bail on health ground. Hearing both the sides, the court sent the accused to the jail. The court, however, ordered the prison authorities to arrange treatment for Salim as per the jail code.
DNC, on Sunday, raided Selim’s posh flat in Banani and seized a large quantity of foreign liquor, cocaine, cannabis chocolates, MDMA, LSD and synthetic ganja from there.
