Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court yesterday (Sunday) placed three arrested members of banned militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJi) on a two-day remand each in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.They are: Md Abdullah, Md Ridwan and Md Mufiqul Islam Ripon. Magistrate Mollah Saiful Islam of Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court passed the order after Detective Branch (DB) of Police SI SM Raisul Islam produced them to the court with a ten-day remand plea for each. DB of police arrested the suspected trio from the city’s Postagola area on Saturday night.Meanwhile, the same court put four other HuJi men on one-day fresh remand on completion of their six-day remand in two separate cases.They are: Rafique Ahmed alias Sajid, 34, Umar alias Foyzul alias Robi, 25, Nadim Ahmed alias Sumon, 30 and Salahuddin Ahmed, 29.
