Scientists of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), has revealed a research at a programme held at BARI, Jashore, organised by the institute being supported by the USAID following the visit of Earl R Miller, US ambassador to Dhaka, that the country is in threat of Army worm, a feared pest which has wrought devastation in Africa is now quickly spreading is Asia.
Dr Syed Nurul Alam, director, planning and evaluation, BARI, presented the key note paper in the programme chaired by Dr Gobinda Chandra Biswas in presence of the US ambassador on Monday afternoon.
The US ambassador, in his speech, told that the United States and Bangladesh have strong partnership in the field of economy and agriculture. The US is making people of Bangladesh conscious about the threat of the worm.
