Bangladesh Army won gold medal in the men’s division in rugby competition of the Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games defeating Dhaka district team by 42-0 points in the final at the Rangpur Zilla School Ground on Sunday. Dhaka district team bagged silver medal in this event.
Bangladesh Ansar & VDP gained bronze medal in this event beating Narayanganj district team in a place-deciding match at the same venue.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP captured gold medal in the women’s division in the rugby competition of the Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games beating Tangail district team by 5-0 points on the same day.
Rangpur district team gained bronze medal in this event defeating Dhaka district team by 14-0 points in a place-deciding match on the same day.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur District Md Asib Ahsan distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest on the concluding session on the same day.
General Secretary of Rangpur District and Divisional Sports Association Advocate Anwarul Islam and General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Federation Mousum Ali were present as special guests.
