Two quarantine centres have been set up in the capital under the supervision of Bangladesh Army to deal with overseas returnees and ensure their proper quarantine.
Lt Col Abdullah Ibn Jayed, director of Inter Services Public Relations, said one quarantine centre was set up at the Haji Camp in Ashkona while the other at Diabari of Uttara as per government’s instructions to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
“On completion of the immigration procedure at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the suspected returnees will be handed over to Army. Later, the soldiers will take them to the quarantine centres and take care of them,” he added.
