Bangladesh Army Special Work Organization (SWO) on Thursday informed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina about the design and progress of work of two projects being implemented by it.
One of the projects is Treasury, being constructed to preserve the gifts and mementos received by the President, Prime Minister and other VVIPs of the country during their foreign tours.
The Prime Minister at her Tejgaon office witnessed a power point presentation on the Treasury being built near Novotheatre and Army Museum area at Bijoy Smarani in the capital.
The Prime Minister also witnessed the design of canals being implemented by the SWO of Bangladesh Army on both sides of the 300-foot road at Purbachal.
After the presentations, the Prime Minister gave necessary directives to the authorities concerned.
She asked them to complete construction works of the treasury keeping in mind the issue of moisture and risk of fire.
Briefing reporters after the presentations, PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim said the prime minister expressed satisfaction at the progress of the works and gave some directives and suggestions.
Army Chief General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Haque gave the welcome address highlighting various features of the Treasury.
The treasury should be constructed in such a way that moisture could not cause any harm to the mementos and gifts, she said adding that the treasury must have necessary fire extinguishing equipment.
