Army chief raises flags of 17 Infantry Division in Sylhet

Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Army General Aziz Ahmed raised the flags of four units belonging to 17 Infantry Division in Sylhet Cantonment on Thursday. At that time he instructed all army personnel to stay on high alert to face any threat.
The five newly commissioned units of 17 Infantry Division are 50 Field Regiment Artillery, 65 Field Ambulance, 2 Para Commando Battalion and Ordnance Depot.
Major Muhammad Jubayer Salehin, GOC and Area Commander of 17th Infantry Division was present at the time.
General Aziz Ahmed told all members of Bangladesh Army to pay honour to their superiors and to work with confidence, compassion, fraternity, discipline and professionalism. Bangladesh Army is always ready to serve the needs of the country. Apart from protecting the sovereignty of the country, this force is making important contribution to the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the country including dealing with natural and man-made disasters. The same goes for every member of the army to be ready to accept the highest sacrifices to protect the integrity of the country in the future as well, he said.
A parade was organized to salute General Aziz Ahmed. All officers and troops of Sylhet Cantonment were present at that time.
Through the inauguration of the four new units of 17 Infantry Division, another milestone has been added to Bangladesh Army’s march towards Forces Goal 2030.
