Police rounded up one arms trader with a foreign pistol from city area on Monday night. The arms trader identified as Manzoor Alam who was rounded up fromBaluchara Kalarpol area of Baizid thana at about 11 pm . Sensing the presence of police in the area, the arms trader tried to escape from the spot but policemen shoot out at him while fleeing and received injury in leg with bullet. Police apprehended him with injury condition and sent to Chittagong Medical college hospital .He is now under treatment in hospital, police sources said.
Police recovered an American made 7.65 bore pistol from his possession.A case under arms act is being lodged with the concerned police , sources said.
