Police are yet to confirm the identity of the youth, who was killed falling from the rooftop of a six-storied building at the city’s Uttara on Tuesday.
But the deceased’s name was Arif, 35, as per local source.
When contacted, a sub-inspector of Uttara East Police station said that Police arrested five persons from the spot. Two cases were filed against them on the charge of human trafficking and arms possession.
Three of them have been identified as
Fazlul Huq, 45, Jahirul Islam, 27, and Masum, 20, but the identity of two women could not be known instantly.
On a tip-off, a team of RAB raided the House No. 17, Road-13, Uttara Sector-4 on Tuesday afternoon. At that time Arif fell from the rooftop while trying to escape.
He was seriously injured and rushed to Kurmitola Hospital, but the on-duty doctors declared him dead”, said Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). “RAB recovered a foreign pistol, two rounds of bullets and a magazine from their possession. They were involved in prostitution and using woman as tool to make money,” he said.
