An orientation meeting on “Established slum women’s Obtainment of Justice Adopting Grassroots Initiatives” was held on March 31 last at City Corporation auditorium .
To apprise the legal aid services under Legal project of Bright Bangladesh Forum to the stakeholders , this orientation meeting was held,sources said. Under the financial cooperation of UK Aid and Maxwell Stamp PLC , community legal service activities within the city corporation area was arranged for the stakeholders duly presided by BBF Chief Executive Officerr Utpal Barua.
City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin graced the occasion as chief guest. Chief Executive of ELMA, an associate organisation of the project Jesmin Sultana Paru delivered the address of welcome in it.
Among others, CCC Panel Mayor Chowdhury Hasan Mahmud Hasni, Jobaida nargis, councilor Md. Hossain Hiron, Mobarak Ali, Farzana Parvin, Abida Azad, Jesmin Parvin Jesi, Nahrin Disha, CCC Secretary Abul Hossain, Chief Conservancy officer Shafiqul Mannan Siddiqui, Police Inspector Nurul Absar, victim support centre Police Inspector Yasmin, Mitali Barua and senior executives of BBF were present on the occasion.
City Mayor in his brief deliberations emphasized the necessity of legal aid service for the slum dwellers and less fortunate people and he hoped this aims of providing the legal services to slum women will be intensified in coming days. He also assures all possible help to BBF in this project.
BBF is undergoing the activities of the project in ward no.4,7,13,14, 19 & 17 in city area , sources said.
