Apan Jewellers’ owner in Jail

Two courts of Dhaka on Tuesday landed three owners of Dhaka’s Apan Jewellers in the jail in two money laundering cases filed with the Ramna Model Police Station and Gulshan Police Station of the city.
Magistrate Nurunnahar Yasmin of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court sent accused Dilder Ahmed Selim, one of the owners of Apan Jewelles to the jail after he surrendered before her court with bail pleas. Later, Magistrate Md Ahsan Habib sent two other accused owners- Gulzar Ahmed and Azad Ahmed to the jail similarly after they appeared in his court in another money laundering with bail petitions.

surrendered to the courts a day after the two courts issued warrants against them in the cases.
Of the accused, Dildar is the father of Banani rape case accused Shafat Ahmed. The trial of the rape case against Shafat and four others is going on.
On August 12, Customs Intelligence lodged five cases against these owners under the Money Laundering Prevention Act. According to the case statements, the owners of Apan Jewellers imported about 15 mounds of gold and diamonds allegedly dodging tax.
