State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru MP said here on Friday that the anti-liberation forces led by General Ziaur Rahman assassinated father of the nation Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975 for turning the country into a failed state.
“The forces, who opposed the country’s independence during liberation war in 1971, under the direct patronisation of general Zia killed Bangabandhu and his family members for destroying the spirit of the liberation war and steering the nation towards an uncertainty”, he said.
Khasru, who also a valiant freedom fighte, made these remarks while he was addressing as chief guest at a discussion meeting on the National Morning Day was held at the office of Sectors Commanders Forum (SCF), Netrakona District Unit at Teribazer here.
The SCF, Netrakona District Unit organised the meeting marking the National Morning Day and August 21, grenade attack on AL rally in Dhaka on 2004.
Chaired by President of the SCF, Netrakona District Unit and freedom fighter Mohamamd Shamsuzzuha, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Habiba Rahman Khan Shefali MP, Chairman of Atpara upazila Parishad Kairul Islam, Office Secretary of Awami League, Netrakona District Unit Mazharul Islam, Labour Affairs Secretary of Awami League, Netrakona District Unit Gazi Muzammel Hussain Tuku, Organising Secretary of SCF, Netrakona District Unit Gazi Murtuza Hussain Kamal and Advisor of Awami League Netrakona District Unit Prof Manic Ray.
The state minister Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru said, the anti-liberation forces are still now hatching deep-rooted conspiracy for disrupting the country’s on-going development trend as the country has already become the role model of development in the world under the dynamic leadership of prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
In this context, he underlined the need for greater unity and solidarity of the freedom fighters and pro-liberation forces to foil their all the evil designs.
