Ansar women capture 5 golds in National Taekwondo

Ansar Women Taekwondo seniors players were in impressive form as they bagged 5 gold medals on the inaugural day of the 14th National Senior-Junior Taekwondo Championship on Monday at National Sports Council (NSC) gymnasium in the city.
This year’s competition is being sponsored by Trust Bank and organized by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF).
National Sports Council’s Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas formally inaugurated the two-day meet.
BTF president Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal and general secretary Mahmudul Islam Rana were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
Near about five hundred boys’ and girls’ participants from different services teams, divisions and districts sports associations are taking part in the senior and junior events.
On the inaugural day, eight events were finalized in women’s senior section. Bangladesh Army’s Binoti won the gold in -46 KG weight category. In the -49 KG, Moni of Bangladesh Army bagged the gold.
In the -53 KG weight Bangladesh Ansar ‘s Proba won the first gold medal. Mainu Marma won the second gold for Bangladesh Ansar in the -57 KG weight. BJMC’s Bondona captured the gold for team in -62 KG weight. Bangladesh Ansar’s Shahnaz, Shraboni, and Susmita won gold medals for their team in -67 KG, -73 KG and in + 73 respectively.
On the concluding day on Tuesday, State Minister for Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Biren Sikder MP will distribute the prizes among the winners of National junior Taekwondo winners as chief guest at 11am at the same venue.
In the afternoon, Bangladesh Army’s Adjutant Major General SM Motiur Rahman will distribute the prizes among the winners of senior National Taekwondo winners.
President of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal will preside the concluding ceremony.
