Bangladesh Ansar, Bangladesh Police, Dhaka Division team and Rajshahi Division team moved to the semi-finals of the Walton 2nd National Women’s Baseball Competition on Friday.
In the opening day’s matches at the Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in the city’s Dhanmondi, Bangladesh Ansar blanked Khulna Division team by 16-0 points, Bangladesh Police drubbed Mymensingh Division team by 23-0 points, Dhaka Division team beat Rangpur Division team by 17-6 points, Rajshahi Division team defeated Chittagong Division team by 13-3 points.
Earlier, Secretary of Youth and Sports Affairs of Bangladesh Awami League Harun-ur-Rashid inaugurated the baseball meet by releasing the balloons as the chief guest, while Senior Operative Director (Head of Games & Sports) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn was with him as the special guest.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association Aminul Islam Liton delivered the address of welcome.
Today Bangladesh Ansar will face Rajshani Division in the first semi-final, while Bangladesh Police will take on Dhaka Division in the second semi-final at the same venue.
