Bangladesh Ansar & VDP emerged the champions in the Walton 1st Federation Cup Women’s Handball Competition defeating Bangladesh Police Handball Club by 31-23 goals in the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Saturday. Bangladesh Police Handball Club finished runners-up in the handball meet.
Bangladesh Ansar trailed the first half by 13-16 goals.
Khadiza of Bangladesh Ansar scored six goals, while Khaleda of Bangladesh Police netted seven goals.
Rubina of Bangladesh Police was adjudged the Player of the Tournament. Champions Bangladesh Ansar were awarded Tk fifteen thousand as prize-money and also were given trophy and medals, while runners-up Bangladesh Police Handball Club got Tk ten thousand as prize-money and also were given trophy and medals. After the entertaining final match, Ambassador of Turkey to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Senior Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn and Head of Programme Development of Radio Today Zahirul Islam Tutul were present as special guests.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Handball Federation Golam Habib presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
