A man in Pabna has died while being treated for injuries sustained during the Union Parishad elections.
Sirazul Islam Kalu, 40, was injured on May 28, during polling at the
Iswardi Upazila’s Shahapur Union. He died on Saturday while being treated at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, said Iswardi police OC Biman Kumar Das. He was caught in a clash near a polling station between supporters of two member candidates, said Kalu’s brother Shahjahan Ali. “Several others were injured then. Of them, Kalu was shifted to Rajshahi as his condition deteriorated. He died around 4pm on Saturday,” Ali told bdnews24.com.
