Another hurt in Noakhali clash over cricket match dies

Another young man who suffered bullet injuries during a clash between two groups over a friendly cricket match at Anantapur village in Begumganj upazila died early Tuesday at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Wasim, 24, a resident of the village.
Family sources said Wasim died at the DMCH around 4:30am.
Earlier on Monday three young men-Fazle Rabbi alias Rajib, 20, Wasim, 24, and Yeasin, 23,– suffered bullet injuries during the clash on Monday afternoon. Officer-in-charge of Begumganj Police Station Golam Faruqe said the clash ensued following an altercation between the supporters of two teams over the friendly cricket match around 5pm.
A chase and counter-chase took place between them during the melee when they fired seven gunshots, leaving Rajib, Wasim and Yeasin injured.
They were taken to Noakhali General Hospital where doctors declared Rajib dead, said residential medical officer of the hospital Fariduddin Chowdhury.
Later Yeasin was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Comilla and Wasim was admitted to DMCH as their condition deteriorated.
