Another doctor dies with Covid-19 infection

Another doctor has died with coronavirus infection at Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka last night.
Maj (retd) Abul Mokarim Md Mohsin Uddin, chief consultant (radiology) of Ibn Sina Diagnostic and Imaging Centre, breathed his last around 11:20pm yesterday, Shafiqul Islam, manager (Admin) of the centre, told the media.

Prof Mokarim, a freedom fighter, was infected while discharging duties at the hospital, he added.
With Mokarim, three doctors died with coronavirus infection so far.
The deceased’s younger son Samuel Mursalin said his father, despite being an asthma patient, used to go to the diagnostic centre regularly since Covid-19 outbreak emerged. Around 12 days ago, he first exhibited Covid-19 symptoms like fever and breathing problems. As his condition deteriorated a week ago, he was first taken to Ibn Sina Hospital from where he was shifted to CMH, he said.
His sample was collected there and the result came out Covid-19 positive, Mursalin said, adding his mother, elder brother and sister-in-law also tested positive later.
On April 15, Dr Md Moyeen Uddin, an assistant professor of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, died at Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka while Hematologist Prof Col (retd) Md Moniruzzaman of Anwar Khan Modern Medical College Hospital.
